“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.” — Psalm 37:7 (NKJV)
There is a kind of peace that only comes when we stop trying to control everything. Many times, we wear ourselves out trying to fix what only God can change. Selah reminds us to pause, breathe, and let go. To surrender does not mean to give up—it means to hand over the battle to the One who never loses. When we rest in the Lord, we acknowledge that His plan is wiser, His timing is perfect, and His love is constant even when we do not understand what He is doing.
True peace begins when we stop striving and start trusting. God’s way may not always make sense in the moment, but His heart toward us is always good. The more we try to control outcomes, the more anxious we become. But when we Selah, we are reminded that the safest place to be is in His hands. Surrender is not weakness; it is worship. It is the moment we say, “Lord, I trust You more than my fears.”
So today, take a Selah moment. Lay down the need to figure everything out. Let go of the worries that weigh you down and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. His peace flows freely when we stop fighting for control and simply rest in His presence.
Father, I surrender my plans, worries, and timing to You. Teach me to rest in Your presence and trust that You know what is best for me. Help me to Selah—to pause, to let go, and to find peace in Your perfect will. Amen.
