"O Lord, You have searched me and known me... You are familiar with all my ways." — Psalm 139:1,3b
One of the most beautiful truths of the New Covenant is that we are fully known and fully loved by God. There is no part of you that is hidden from Him—no secret, no struggle, no failure. God knows you intimately and still loves you with a perfect, unwavering love. You don’t have to pretend or hide. His love isn’t based on your performance, but on His perfect grace.
The Comfort of Being Fully Known
It’s one thing to be loved, but to be fully known and still loved is a radical truth. In a world where people often hide parts of themselves, afraid of being rejected if others truly knew them, the idea that God fully knows us—and loves us anyway—can be a radical comfort.
God knows your thoughts before you think them, your words before you speak them, and your actions before you take them. He knows your heart—every joy, every pain, every question, and every fear. Yet, He doesn’t condemn you. He doesn’t walk away. Instead, He embraces you with open arms, offering grace and unconditional love.
God's Love Is Not Conditional
In human relationships, we often experience love that is conditional, based on what we do or how we perform. But God’s love is different. His love is not based on your perfection; it is rooted in His perfect character. He loves you because of who He is—not because of what you do.
This means that no matter where you’ve been, no matter what you’ve done, you are still fully loved by God. You don’t have to clean yourself up or fix yourself to be worthy of His love. He already loves you, completely, just as you are.
The Beauty of the New Covenant Love
Under the New Covenant, God’s love for us is unbreakable. His love is not a temporary feeling or a passing affection—it is eternal and unchanging. Nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). No sin, no mistake, no failure can sever the bond we share with Him. In Christ, we are fully reconciled to the Father. His love for us is secure, and it’s the foundation of our identity in Christ.
Resting in His Love
When we truly understand that we are fully known and fully loved by God, it changes the way we live. We can stop hiding. We can stop striving to earn His love. We can stop living in fear of rejection. We can simply rest in the truth that we are completely accepted in Christ.
This rest allows us to live confidently, knowing that nothing we do will ever change the depth of His love. We don’t have to live under pressure to prove ourselves. Instead, we live from a place of security and freedom, knowing that God’s love is not based on our behavior but on His unchanging nature.
Embracing Vulnerability and Grace
The truth that we are fully known and fully loved also invites us to be vulnerable before God. We don’t have to hide our struggles, our weaknesses, or our imperfections. God already knows them. Instead of running away from God in shame, we can run to Him, knowing that His love is greater than any mistake.
We can bring our hurts, our questions, and our doubts to Him because He understands. He doesn’t judge us for being human; He meets us with grace. He invites us to come as we are and experience the fullness of His love.
Today’s Reflection
What areas of your life are you hiding from God? Are there parts of yourself you feel unworthy to bring before Him? Take a moment to reflect on the truth that God fully knows you and still loves you. Let that truth bring healing to any area where shame or fear has held you back.
“Father, thank You for fully knowing me and still loving me. I don’t have to hide from You or fear rejection. Help me embrace Your love today, knowing that I am secure in Your grace. Let Your love fill every part of my life and guide me to live confidently in the freedom You’ve given me. Amen.”
