“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” – John 10:28 (NKJV)
There is a deep longing in every human heart for security. It is an anchor that cannot be shaken by failure, fear, or death. The good news of the gospel is that this security is already ours in Christ. Eternal life is not a reward we strive to earn but a gift we have already received the moment we believed.
Eternal life is not temporary life. It is everlasting, unbreakable, and secured by the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
The beauty of this assurance is that it frees us from living in constant fear of losing God’s favor. We are not walking a tightrope, afraid of falling into judgment. Instead, we are resting in the arms of the One who holds us forever. Nothing can separate us from His love.
And with this assurance, our hearts are at rest. We serve God not to earn security, but because we already have it. His perfect love has cast out fear and replaced it with peace and confidence. We belong to Him, now and for all eternity.
Father, thank You for the gift of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus. Thank You that my salvation is secure, not because of my works, but because of His finished work on the cross. Help me rest in Your love and walk in the freedom of knowing that nothing can separate me from You. Amen.
